A government whistleblower has come forward with a memorandum of an unprecedented and “unnerving” internal request for emergency medical personnel at President-elect Donald Trump’s upcoming inauguration in Washington on January 20.
A “high-level” Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) insider turned over the internal memorandum to the O’Keefe Media Group (OMG), who followed up with additional inquiries to sources in other agencies.
The memorandum to Office of Emergency Management (VHA) Executive Director Paul D. Kim reveals a request from the Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Administration for Strategic Preparedness Response (ASPR) for critical medical support, including paramedics, emergency nurses, and doctors at the event at the U.S. Capitol.

The VA insider claimed she had never seen this kind of request over “several” past inaugurations.
“What concerned me was that this has never been requested before, especially not from HHS,” she said.
“What we have, what I saw to me, was a little bit unnerving. I’ve been in the VA for several inaugurations, and this was the first time they have ever asked for DEMPS [Disaster Emergency Medical Personnel System] personnel.”

The insider reiterated that the “unnerving” nature of the document compelled her to make it public.
“I’m not 100% sure, but my gut says this is not normal, and it’s not,” she said.
When asked by OMG founder James O’Keefe about whether such precautions had been taken before in previous inaugurations, Derrick Jaastad, another VHA Executive Director, said, “I was not with the organization, so I can’t speak to that.”
When Public Affairs Specialist Kurt M. Rauschenberg was asked the same question, he replied, “I personally can’t speak to previous inaugurations.”
The unprecedented request underscores the heightened security risks America faces following two recent terrorist attacks in New Orleans and Las Vegas, and the two attempts already made on Trump’s life in the past 6 months.
