The British Parking Association (BPA) recently introduced new guidelines on U.K. parking structures, citing heavy electric vehicles as potential risks to parking garages.
Because of their extremely heavy cobalt batteries mined using slave labor, EVs often weigh as much as double the weight of similar gas vehicles.
For example, The Western Journal cited the Kelly Blue Book, writing, “The 2023 GMC Hummer EV weighs over 9,000 pounds. Conversely, the gas-powered Sierra 1500 weighs 4,430 lbs.”
One of the authors of the BPA guidelines, Chris Whapples, suggested, “Operators need to be aware of electric vehicle weights, and get their car parks assessed from a strength point of view, and decide if they need to limit weight.”
In fact, the new U.K. guidance would require concrete floor strength to increase from 562 pounds per square meter to 674 pounds.
The issue is a global one as recently seen in America where a New York City parking garage collapsed and killed one innocent person.
The NYC collapse hasn’t been attributed to electric vehicle weight, but it could have played a role.
New York Commissioner of Emergency Management Zachary Iscol said the parking garage was no longer structurally stable and revealed the ongoing cleanup is dangerous due to “gas” and other fluids in addition to the “complexity” and “issues” with electric vehicle batteries.
With governments around the world bowing to unelected globalist groups like the World Economic Forum, they are already beginning to outlaw gas-powered cars and force electric vehicles on the public.
The U.K. intends on banning sales of new internal combustion engine vehicles by 2030 and Democrat-run states in America like California are doing the same.
Will every parking structure and bridge in Europe and America need to be rebuilt to sustain the weight of these behemoth “green” vehicles?
