Update: President Trump responded to Democrats who tried entering the Department of Education Friday, calling California Rep. Maxine Waters “a low-life,” adding, “I see all these people, they don’t love our Country.”
Democrat lawmakers surrounded and berated a federal employee on Friday for daring to stand guard at the door of the Department of Education, refusing to let them in the building.

Jim Hairfield, the Deputy Assistant Secretary, Office of Security, Facilities and Logistics Services at the Dept. of Education, boldly stood his ground as he was chastised by Rep. Maxine Waters (Calif.) and others.
“Are you prepared to stand here all night if we decide to stay?” asked Waters, with Hairfield responding, “I guess, yeah.”
Members of the crowd falsely claimed, “He’s not a U.S. employee.”
Waters told bystanders, “This is him, look at him! What’s your name? Give me that ID again!”
The employee sternly told the congresswoman he’d already showed her his ID and that he would not show it again.
“What business do you have here?” “We are members of Congress!” and “Who are you?” the lawmakers shouted at the man.
Wow… this is disgusting.

Who the fuck does Maxine Waters think she is bossing around employees she has zero authority over?
At this rate, the Democrats might never win a federal election again. The party might not even exist come 2028.

While he was accosted, Hairfield told the crowd he was operating under a “security responsibility.”
“We are members of Congress!”

Rep. Maxwell Frost (Fla.) ironically posted footage of the scene to Elon Musk’s 𝕏, while complaining, “Elon is allowed in the Department of Education. Not your elected representatives or students & parents. I will be back.”
Frost said, “I’m here with multiple members of Congress. We’re here to go to the Department of Education to fight for education, and they have locked the doors. They’re not letting us in; it says ‘All Access Entrance’; there’s a random guy out here who’s refusing to let us in—”
“And right here they have armed officers, as well, acting like we’re dangerous,” he added. “A year ago I’d be able to walk into this building and not be locked out.… Elon is allowed in, but not you, not your elected representatives, not parents, not students. Elon can go in, his goons can go in, but not the representatives of the people.”
The incident already led to the creation of epic memes:
