An illegal alien convicted of child rape in Brazil was arrested while living at a licensed daycare in the sanctuary state of Massachusetts, according to reports.
On Oct. 31, 2024, Andre Tiago Lucas was caught by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in the Cape Cod town of Bourne, as InfoWars reported at the time.
Tiago Lucas, 36, had been hiding in the U.S. for years after being convicted of raping a 13-year-old victim and sentenced to nine years in prison by a court in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais in 2016.
The fugitive had been living at a home in Hyannis where Franciele Nunes was operating a family daycare, Boston 25 News reported on Tuesday.
Nunes was reportedly the mother of two children she had Tiago Lucas.
She was licensed with the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) for three years but allowed her certification to expire in March, leading to the closure of the daycare.
“The idea that someone has been documented, that a Brazilian national fled the country because they were convicted for rape of a 13-year-old and could come to Massachusetts and not only disappear into the fabric of Massachusetts, but actually be living in a home that was a daycare center for young people. That’s terrifying,” stated Worcester County Sheriff Lew Evangelidis.
The daycare was inspected at least five times by the EEC, which claims they found no evidence the Brazilian was present.
Nunes reportedly refused to speak to Boston 25 News and notified police when she was contacted by reporters.
