Elon Musk hinted at buying both Infowars and the collapsing MSNBC network in an X post that’s gone viral.
In response to a user posting the Trade Offer meme suggesting an exchange between the embattled Infowars network for MSNBC News, Musk on Saturday suggested the idea would be “fire.”

This comes amid a growing scandal involving the auctioning off of Alex Jones’ flagship website as part of its bankruptcy case that was revealed this month to be an unlawful secret sale to parody network The Onion.
On November 15, Judge Christopher Lopez convened an emergency hearing discussing how the court-appointed trustee, without the judgeâs approval, went ahead and ordered the shutdown of the Infowars.com website, as well as its sister video site Banned.video, immediately after filing the results of the fake auction/private sale with the court, while admitting to the US bankruptcy judge that The Onionâs was not the highest bid.
âNobody should feel comfortable with the results of the auction,â Judge Lopez said.
Notably, Musk’s lawyers got involved in the ongoing Infowars bankruptcy case earlier this month by filing a motion to appear as an interested party after the judge called for a new hearing to discuss concerns about the questionable bidding process.

Meanwhile, Comcast announced that it’s looking to spin MSNBC off into a new entity along with several other cable channels like USA, Oxygen and CNBC in the wake of tanking ratings.
The announcement caught the attention of Musk last week, who asked, “How much does it cost?”, referencing a famous interaction with a Twitter user that culminated in his $44 billion acquisition of Twitter, now known as X.

It looks like the SpaceX founder is taking the idea seriously, because he reposted the following meme on Sunday:
“The most entertaining outcome, especially if ironic, is most likely,” Musk noted.
