A Chinese spy embedded herself with California Democratic politicians for years, including with Rep. Eric Swalwell, to relay political intelligence and personal information back to communist China, according to reports.
Intelligence officials in the FBI told Axios that China’s Ministry of State Security dispatched their spy Fang Fang (aka Christine Fang) in 2011 to act as a honey trap for California Democrat bureaucrats, specifically around the Bay Area where Silicon Valley is headquartered.
“Through campaign fundraising, extensive networking, personal charisma, and romantic or sexual relationships with at least two Midwestern mayors, Fang was able to gain proximity to political power,” Axios reported.
The FBI even caught some of these sexual encounters on surveillance.
Fang also used her close ties to the California Democrat power structure to deploy “subagents” to key political and congressional offices.
“Even though U.S. officials do not believe Fang received or passed on classified information, the case ‘was a big deal, because there were some really, really sensitive people that were caught up’ in the intelligence network, a current senior U.S. intelligence official said.”
One of those “sensitive people” was Russia hoaxer Rep. Swalwell, who she fundraised for in 2014 preceding his ascendence to the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and a ranking member of its Central Intelligence Agency Subcommittee in 2015.

Fang developed a relationship with Russia hoaxer Swalwell, who began serving on the United States House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and as a ranking member of its Central Intelligence Agency Subcommittee in 2015. Reports from a political operative and intelligence official indicate that Fang raised millions for Swalwell’s re-election in 2014 and helped place at least one intern in his Washington, D.C. office.

Fang reportedly gained access to political circles as a student at California State University East Bay and her positions as president of the school’s Chinese Student Association and president of the campus chapter of Asian Pacific Islander American Public Affairs (APAPA) in 2011. She hurriedly departed from the U.S. back to China in 2015, despite planning to attend upcoming events in the states.
That same year, U.S. intelligence warned local and national politicians through defensive briefings of Fang’s Chinese intelligence connections, saying that Fang’s cozying up with the politicians in question was part of a “long game play” by communist China “to strike up a relationship with you and see if you move up the line.” Fang’s particular operation appeared to have dissipated in 2015.
Despite his deep concern for President Trump’s debunked “Russia collusion” nonsense, Swalwell’s office dismissed this bombshell report, telling Axios he had already reported Fang to the FBI long ago.
“Rep. Swalwell, long ago, provided information about this person — whom he met more than eight years ago, and whom he hasn’t seen in nearly six years — to the FBI. To protect information that might be classified, he will not participate in your story.”
Reports of California Democrats ingratiating with Chinese spies is not new.
In 2018 the FBI confirmed that the office of California Senator Dianne Feinstein (D) – once a chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee – had recruited a Chinese spy as a staffer for nearly twenty years.
And of course, we can’t forget Hunter Biden’s shady deals with China while his father Joe Biden was vice president.
As we reported in 2017, the Communist Chinese had invested billions to deploy over 25,000 spies into the United States as part of a 50-year subversion program, which became “offensive” in 2012.
“These spies, when they come to the United States, they could sleep around, they could put poison in your glass of wine to kill you; completely unscrupulous…the budget is between $3 billion to $4 billion annually,” billionaire Chinese businessmen Guo Wengui said.
How many more compromised Democrats need to be discovered before U.S. intelligence agencies acknowledge that the highest levels of our government have been infiltrated by the Communist Chinese?
