A children’s choir who were forced to stop performing the National Anthem at the U.S. Capitol this week have been invited back by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy to finish their performance.
The Rushingbrook Children’s Choir were told by Capitol Police to stop performing the National Anthem last Friday because the song could “offend someone,” resulting in widespread online backlash by conservatives.
The moment a children's choir singing at the #uscapitol was told to stop singing the U.S. National Anthem during the second verse. They had been given permission to sing prior to a higher up deciding our nation's anthem in our nation's capitol was offensive.

The choir director had told The Gateway Pundit about the incident, claiming the police considered the performance to be a political demonstration.
I said, what’s the problem? And she said we can’t let you continue. I said, why not? And she said, this is considered a demonstration, and we don’t allow demonstrations inside the Capitol.
I said, “This is not a demonstration. This is simply a group of children singing the National anthem.” And she said, “Well, that’s considered a demonstration. We can’t allow you to continue.” And I said you’re telling me that a group of children can’t sing the National Anthem in their own Capitol? And she said, “That’s right.”
And then she said something, it might offend or it might be offensive to some.
But McCarthy invited the choir back to the U.S. Capitol on Friday, calling the incident “unacceptable.”
“Just learned kids were interrupted while singing our National Anthem at the Capitol. Unacceptable. These children were welcomed by my office because your Capitol is back open, particularly for school groups,” he tweeted.

“@RepTimmons, @RepJoeWilson, & @RepRussellFry, and I look forward to having them back to perform in the halls of Congress,” he added.
This is a no-brainer by McCarthy — if the left can successfully prevent children from singing the U.S. National Anthem at the U.S. Capitol by claiming it’s “offensive,” they can get away with just about anything.
