Longtime mainstream media pundit Chris Wallace announced Monday he‘ll be leaving his position at CNN in order to begin an online program.
Speaking with the Daily Beast, the 77-year-old news anchor said he’ll be exiting the network when his contract expirers at the end of the year.
“I have nothing but positive things to say. CNN has been very good to me,” Wallace said, revealing his decision to depart has been “quite liberating.”
“This is the first time in 55 years I’ve been between jobs,” he added. “I am actually excited and liberated by that.”
The veteran newsman said podcasting is “where the action seems to be,” but Infowars founder Alex Jones pointed out “telling the truth” is the true key to success in the modern media landscape.
“No Chris, the action is in telling the truth. Something Mr Wallace did not learn from his father,” Jones wrote on X.
Wallace’s venture into the podcasting world will likely be unsuccessful as he’s already lost the respect and trust of the American people.
