As Inauguration Day approaches, leftists have been calling for Trump supporters to be weeded out of society and “deprogrammed” or “re-educated” over their political ideology.
In the last week, several far-left pundits and lawmakers have been making more bold and authoritarian statements about how to deal with President Trump’s base after he leaves office.
On CNN Monday, a “cult expert” discussed how Trump supporters could be “deprogrammed”, such as “coaching” family members to “free” them from the “Trump cult.”
On “The View”, co-host Sunny Hostin asserted that 74 million Trump supporters were “brainwashed” for believing that the 2020 presidential election was rigged.
“I really believe they have been brainwashed by this misinformation campaign over the past four years,” she said.

On HBO’s “Real Time” last Friday, TV news anchor Katie Couric pondered how the left was going to “deprogram” Trump supporters from the “cult of Trump” once Biden assumes office.
“They bought into this big lie. And the question is, how are we going to, really, almost deprogram these people who have signed up for the cult of Trump?” she asked Bill Maher.
Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) suggested massive funding for “programs” to “de-radicalize” Trump supporters.
“There are people who are radicalized right now. It’s going to take a very long time to de-radicalize these people and a lot of effort,” she said Friday during a town hall.
“We need to double, triple or quadruple the funding for these programs.”
MSNBC analyst Eugene Robinson and New York Times columnist Nikole Hannah-Jones also discussed last week how they would be able to “deprogram” Trump supporters after Biden is sworn in.
“There are millions of Americans, almost all white, almost all Republicans, who somehow need to be deprogrammed,” Robinson said. “It’s as if they are members of a cult, the Trumpist cult, and have to be deprogrammed.”
Hannah-Jones added that there must be “consequences” for Trump supporters.
“I know we can look to history,” Hannah-Jones said. “What ultimately breaks that power structure in the South is enforcement, right? There has to be consequences. And then once you get those consequences … people have to take a second look at their actions.”
And last week, Project Veritas captured PBS’ principal lawyer Michael Beller admitting that the left is aiming to take away the children of Trump supporters to be “re-educated” when Biden becomes president.
“We go for all the Republican voters and Homeland Security will take their children away…we’ll put them into the re-education camps.”
This must be the “unity and healing” Joe Biden has been talking about.
