Fans of former President Donald Trump shouted messages of support at him as he attended the 9/11 memorial in New York City Wednesday morning, with top Democrats standing beside him having to endure the effusive displays of support.
The 45th president smiled as several crowd members attending the ceremony could be heard yelling, “Donald! Donald!” with another begging him to come back into office, stating, “We need you, President Trump!” just hours after the second presidential debate on Tuesday.

Notable Democrats standing by Trump included former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, Joe Biden and his Vice President Kamala Harris, each of whom received far less praise than the former president in his hometown.
Flanked by running mate JD Vance, Trump shook hands with Harris as he arrived at the memorial Wednesday to honor the memory of the fallen victims killed in the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, widely regarded as the worst in U.S. history.

However, just hours earlier on a debate stage in Philadelphia, Democrat nominee Kamala Harris undermined the 9/11 tragedy by claiming the protests of Jan. 6 were “the worst attack on Democracy since the Civil War.”

Thousands of people were murdered on that day, and only Trump supporters were shot or beaten on J6

In the days after the 9/11 attack, Trump went to Ground Zero and surveyed the destruction, praising firefighters, construction workers and first responders for bravely working to clear the rubble.

"A great honor to have done so," Trump has written in a post on Truth Social.

In an interview immediately following the attacks, Trump even noted bombs may have been used to take down the World Trade Center buildings.
Remember in 2001, when @realDonaldTrump said there was no way a plane could have taken down the World Trade Center buildings and hinted 9/11 was controlled demolition?

It’s clear former President Trump has established himself as a symbol of strength and adversity in a time of crisis for mourning New Yorkers, who view him with respect and admiration.
