An illegal alien with a long criminal history in the U.S. has been arrested for killing an ex-relative at a residence in Texas this week, according to reports.
The shocking incident unfolded on Sunday evening in Houston.
Andres Fernandez De La Paz, a 36-year-old Cuban national, turned up to a home where his ex-wife was staying with her sister and brother-in-law, KPRC 2 News reports.
Surveillance footage apparently shows Fernandez De La Paz waiting at the front entrance, drawing a pistol from his waistband, and discharging the weapon into the home after the front door is briefly cracked open.
The suspect then attempts to force entry into the house, kicking the door at least once before fleeing the scene in a purple Maserati.

Ediesky Incencio Pineiro, former brother-in-law of Fernandez De La Paz, was shot in the chest and later succumbed to his injuries.
The shooting reportedly took place in front of the 34-year-old victim’s family.
Fernandez De La Paz had previously threatened to kill the family, and was reportedly under FBI investigation for being the ringleader of a credit card skimming operation in the state of Texas since 2022.
He was arrested in 2016 for shooting two men, killing one, but the case was later dismissed by prosecutors.
Fernandez De La Paz was apprehended in 2023, and again in 2024, in connection with the skimming scheme, including one instance when he and other suspects were stopped right after installing an illegal card reader at a gas pump.
“The FBI took over the investigation days later, though no federal charges were filed. The three suspects were released from custody,” according to KPRC.
“In both arrests, records show ICE lodged immigration detainers, which means he should have been taken into immigration custody after being released from county jails.”

Fernandez De La Paz was initially paroled into the U.S. by the Obama administration in 2014, but has been living here illegally after failing to depart under the terms of his admission in 2016.
In 2019, he was ordered deported by a federal immigration judge, but the Cuban government refused to take him back and he was eventually released, authorities say.
“Since that time, Fernandez has continued to remain in the U.S. illegally and has been convicted of several criminal offenses including evading arrest and twice for credit or debit card abuse,” ICE explained in a statement.
“Fernandez is also currently charged in Fort Bend County, Texas, with allegedly committing credit or debit card abuse for a third time.”
Fernandez De La Paz was arrested on Monday at his residence in Katy and charged with murder.
He was ordered held without bond and ICE has once again lodged a detainer against him.
An investigation is ongoing.
