Former Attorney General Bill Barr unleashed on Donald Trump during a conference in Cleveland on Friday, claiming the former president will bring “chaos” if reelected in 2024.
“If you believe in his policies, what he’s advertising as his policies, he’s the last person who could actually execute them and achieve them,” Barr said of Trump. “He does not have the discipline.”
Barr went on to claim that Trump is incapable of carrying out his own policies.
“It is a horror show when he’s left to his own devices,” Barr said. “And so, you may want his policies, but Trump will not deliver Trump policies.”
“He will deliver chaos and, if anything, lead to a backlash that will set his policies much further back than they otherwise would be,” he added.
Barr, who served as attorney general for President Trump and President George H.W. Bush, has been highly critical of his former boss since leaving the administration in 2020 and insisting there was no fraud in the presidential election.
Last month, he argued Trump was the Republican candidate “most likely to lose again” to Joe Biden in 2024.
It would appear that the majority of the Republican Party disagrees with Barr’s take because Trump is currently the GOP candidate frontrunner by double digits.
In any event, Barr last year said he’d still vote for Trump if he became the Republican nominee in 2024 because the Democrat Party’s “progressive agenda” is America’s “greatest threat.”
