President Donald Trump announced Thursday that former Republican Virginia senate candidate Hung Cao will serve as the United States Under Secretary of the Navy.
“Hung is the embodiment of the American Dream,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “As a refugee to our Great Nation, Hung worked tirelessly to make proud the Country that gave his family a home.”
The president continued, “He went to our amazing United States Naval Academy, and later earned his Master’s Degree in Physics. Hung served in combat as a Special Operations Officer for twenty five years. With Hung’s experience both in combat, and in the Pentagon, he will get the job done. Congratulations to Hung, and his wonderful family!”
Cao responded, “Thank you, Mr. President. It’s time to get to work.”
The new second in command at the U.S. Navy went viral for one of his epic campaign ads last year.
Cao also has a unique connection to Trump administration Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as he recovered his cousin John F. Kennedy Jr.’s body as a Navy diver after the deadly 1999 plane crash.
