The latest Project Veritas undercover video shows Facebook’s Global Planning Lead Benny Thomas venting about the company’s political power.
The telling footage reveals how insiders see the company’s position in today’s world.
Thomas thinks “the government needs to break up Google and Facebook. I would make less money, but it’s a better thing for the world. Facebook and Google are too powerful and they need to be made less powerful.”
“Instagram, Facebook Messenger, Oculus, WhatsApp, they all need to be separate companies,” he continued. “It’s too much power when they’re all one together. It needs to be broken up the way the telecom companies were broken up and the oil companies were broken up.”
“Facebook and Google are no longer companies, they’re countries. They’re as big as countries, they’re more powerful than any country. They must be stopped,” he stated. “It has to be stopped because it’s not good for society.”
Thomas added, “I mean, no king in the history of the world has been the ruler of 2 billion people, but Mark Zuckerberg is and he’s 36. That’s too much for a 36-year-old. You should not have power over two billion people. I just think that’s wrong.”
Touching on the subject of algorithms, the Facebook Global Planning head complained computer programmers claim computers don’t have a bias, arguing, “Human beings wrote that code. And that human being has a bias.”
Next, the Facebook employee issued a warning about artificial intelligence (AI) becoming too powerful.
“AI is running social media, but AI can do more than run social media,” he said. For example, “AI can make all the traffic lights green right now, which would kill like a thousand motorists right now.”
“AI is essentially evolving to become like human intelligence. Then, it’s going to go beyond human intelligence and at that point, humans are expendable,” Thomas acknowledged.
He then compared AI’s view of mankind to how humans see ants, saying when a person steps on an ant at a picnic, they don’t think twice about it.
“For AI, we will become like those ants,” he predicted. “It’s not like AI will try to kill us, they just won’t care. Because it will be so superior that it will be like, ‘these people don’t matter.’ So, I might be killing hundreds of ants when I walk in the park. I don’t know and I don’t care. It’s not a thing I think about. One day we will be like those ants.”
If Google and Facebook remain unchecked, “We are in deep s**t,” according to Thomas.
Talking about his boss’s nonprofit, the Chan-Zuckerberg Initiative, diving into the world of healthcare, the top Facebook insider said their work with CRISPR gene-editing technology is “eugenics. I don’t know any way to stop it.”
The global planning lead said he’s worried about people like futurist Ray Kurzweil, who dreams of mankind merging with artificial intelligence and other technologies to form “singularity.”
Once people have this “computing ability” thanks to a brain chip, a “superior race” will have been created.
“If you have a chip in your brain, you can do many things better than me, right? Like adding up a bill or figuring out how to invest in something,” he explained.
The danger is creating a new class of human-hybrids who could potentially dominate those who refuse to use or simply don’t have access to the technology.
“Most people don’t understand these things and most people don’t think about them,” Thomas said. “Which is why a lot of sh*t goes down because a lot of people aren’t paying attention.”
Project Veritas informed Benny Thomas they had been recording him and asked if he’d like to go public with the information he shared in private.
For now, Thomas declined to go on the record about his fears of Big Tech and AI becoming too powerful and ultimately creating a threat to humanity itself.
