MSNBC is peddling fake news about the Ukraine-Russia conflict using stylized video game footage.
Yes, really.
MSNBC “military analyst” and four-star General Barry McCaffrey on Monday shared a clip from 2015 video game “Arma 3”, claiming it to be actual footage of Ukrainian forces downing a Russian aircraft.
“Russian aircraft getting nailed by UKR missile defense. Russians are losing large numbers of attack aircraft. UKR air defense becoming formidable,” McCaffrey boasted on Twitter.

McCaffrey deleted the tweet hours later after considerable mockery online, but not before CNN propagandist Max Boot retweeted it.

The footage even informed the viewer that it’s a short clip of “Arma 3” video game play, showing a Russian MiG-29 getting shot down by an air defense system.

I literally can’t believe a retired four-star general couldn’t identify a video game… This is ARMA 3, literally says it at the bottom of the video. But I will admit I have 2,819 playing it. Nonetheless, delete the tweet.

Sadly, this isn’t the first time the pro-Ukraine faction has pushed video game play as genuine Ukraine war propaganda.
The Ukrainian government released two separate video game clips for propaganda in recent months.
The first now-deleted video released by Ukraine’s MInistry of Defense purports to show Russian forces getting blown to smithereens, once again using Arma 3 video game footage.

The other propaganda clip shows the Eiffel Tower getting destroyed by Russian fighter jets.
“Would the famous Eiffel Tower in #Paris or the Brandenburg Gate in #Berlin remain standing under the endless bombing of Russian troops?” said Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. “Do you think that does not concern you? Today it’s #Ukraine, tomorrow it will be the whole of #Europe. Russia will stop at nothing.”
