A top former FBI official criticized the top echelons of the bureau for politicizing the agency following its unprecedented raid on former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence.
Former FBI Assistant Director for Intelligence Kevin Brock claimed that a “handful in leadership” of the FBI are tarnishing the bureau’s image by weaponizing it against a political opponent.
“The use of armed agents to execute an invasive search warrant does not match up with the relatively low-level offense—for anyone—let alone a former and possible future president,” Brock told The Epoch Times.
“Most Americans recognize this extraordinary search for what it is: an attempt by one political party that temporarily controls the DOJ to eliminate an adversary from the other party.”
When asked if the FBI had become politicized under the Biden regime, Brock noted, “When justice is captured by the Democrat Party, it seeks to find criminality on the right,” while “Republicans have less of an appetite” to finds crimes on the left.
Sen. Chuck Grassley in a letter sent to Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray noted whistleblowers are alleging the bureau has a two-tiered approach to justice depending on the politics of the subject, such as Hillary Clinton or Hunter Biden.
“Unfortunately, a growing number of Americans have lost confidence in the bureau based on its inconsistent handling of politically sensitive investigations, its lack of cooperation with legitimate congressional oversight inquiries, and its failure to hold its own people accountable for their misconduct,” Grassley told The Epoch Times.
But Brock pushed back, claiming Grassley’s claims don’t “fit the facts” and that “it is dangerous to plant seeds in the minds of the American people that the FBI is corrupt.”
Yet given how the FBI dismissed Hillary Clinton’s handling of classified information on a private server but raided Trump for an even lesser offense, it’s not difficult for the American people to imagine the FBI has become a corrupt institution.
In fact, polling by Statista shows public trust in the FBI has plummeted since 2019 among Independents and Republicans.
After all, the FBI had been in possession of Hunter Biden’s “Laptop from Hell” for over a year by the time the 2020 election took place, and at that time did not push back against Democrat operatives falsely claiming the laptop story was “Russian disinformation.”
Imagine how the FBI would have conducted itself had Hunter’s laptop instead belonged to Donald Trump.
