Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is being accused of attempting to rewrite history after he claimed he never forced anyone to get vaccinated.
Speaking to students at the University of Ottawa Monday, Trudeau claimed he merely “chose to make sure all of the incentives and all of the protections were there to encourage Canadians to get vaccinated.”
“And that’s exactly what they did,” Trudeau said.
While the Canadian prime minister never implemented a nationwide mandate, many of the country’s healthcare, education and public transportation workers were indeed subject to vaccine mandate requirements by local jurisdictions.
In some provinces, people who refused Covid jabs were unable to go to gyms, theaters, restaurants, or bars, or attend certain events. People in Ontario and Quebec were also required to have a “vaccine passport” to enter or leave the country.
Opposition to the vaccine mandates and Covid restrictions was what sparked the great Freedom Convoy trucker protests in Ottawa.
At the height of the pandemic, Trudeau tried to coerce unvaccinated Canadians into getting vaccinated by repeatedly denigrating them, claiming they “Don’t believe in science” and labeling them “extremists,” “misogynists” and “racists.”
“And we have to make a choice… Do we tolerate these people?” the PM asked about vaccinated people at the time, prompting HBO host Bill Maher to comment in 2022 Trudeau was starting to “sound like Hitler.”

In an interview from Feb. 2022, Trudeau also praised mandates, saying, “Mandates are the way to avoid further restrictions…this team is going to stay focused on doing exactly that.”

Trudeau is now laughably attempting to make himself out to be some advocate of free choice when he was anything but.
Let’s not allow Trudeau get away with gaslighting the public and rewriting history.
