The Georgia Supreme Court is expected to dismiss Fani Willis’s RICO case against president-elect Donald Trump.
If the case is dismissed, as expected, it will bring to an end all the major lawsuits against America’s next president.
“Although Willis appears adamant she will stay the course, she could potentially be kicked off the case by a body who are investigating it or usurped by the state Supreme Court, who are likely to step in and close it, according to sources,” The New York Post reported.
A source told The Post, “I would be shocked if it wasn’t (dismissed) but Fani has an ego bigger than the entire state so who knows.”
A hearing to disqualify the case was set for 5 December, but was cancelled last week by the Georgia Court of Appeals.
Willis’s case revolves around Trump’s attempts to question the results of the 2020 election. In August 2023, she indicted Trump and 18 co-defendants.
Trump was booked at Fulton County Jail and given a mugshot, which has now taken on iconic status. Trump retweeted the image as his first post on Twitter after being reinstated by new owner Elon Musk.
Many of the 13 counts in the case have already been dropped.
