A mother was brutally attacked in front of her children by a mob of ‘youths’ wreaking havoc at a swimming pool in Germany this week, according to reports.
The shocking incident unfolded on Sunday evening in Enkenbach-Alsenborn, a municipality in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate.
A group of five or six young people began harassing and intimidating visitors at an aquatic center in the town.
“A young mother stepped in. That was her undoing. Because when she wanted to leave the outdoor pool with her two small children, the young people followed her,” Focus reports.
“They followed the mother to the entrance to the outdoor pool. There, one of the teenagers slapped the mother in the face.”
The teens swarmed the woman and launched a savage assault as her children watched.
The woman’s husband heard her cries for help and eventually intervened.
The assailants fled when a bystander called police.
Authorities were still trying to identify suspects as of Wednesday night.
The attack is just one of a few that have already taken place in Germany ahead of the summer bathing season.
