Harrowing footage out of South America shows a gun shop owner react with lightning fast reflexes as he managed to fend off two armed would-be robbers amid a shootout.
In surveillance cam footage from late February taken inside the San Cristóbal, Paraguay, gun shop, the store owner is seen sitting at his desk speaking to a customer as a man enters the store.
Within moments, another man runs into the business with a weapon drawn, giving the store owner less than a second to grab his own gun and fire back at the assailant, who he successfully strikes.
The first man, apparently in league with the armed robber, also begins firing at the store owner, but manages to flee to a nearby getaway vehicle without being killed; the other guy’s not so lucky.
Police later caught the man who fled.
Here’s more on the story, translated via Google, from Brazilian news network Catve.com:
According to police, two thieves arrived at the establishment and gave a voice of robbery, but the owner reacted.
Security camera footage from the store shows the moment when two robbers enter with guns drawn and the quick reaction of the owner who pulls his pistol from his waist and shoots the robbers. One of them falls and the other runs away and flees with the support of another partner who was waiting in the getaway vehicle.
The owner was wounded in the arm. Family members tried to chase the bandits who were later arrested by the police.
