An attempted child abduction in Beverly Hills, Cali., on Saturday ended with the suspect being fatally stabbed after allegedly trying to snatch a two-year-old from her father’s arms.
Footage circulating on social media shows the aftermath of the foiled kidnapping attempt, with officers cuffing a suspect on the ground who had a big gash on his face.

A Good Samaritan who intervened described witnessing the event unfold at an intersection as the assailant attacked the father, who fought back as he was carrying his daughter through a crosswalk.
“We realized we needed to do something,” the witness, identified only as “Brian,” described.
“I saw him attacking the father as they were walking across the street while he had his – probably 2-year-old, maybe a little younger – in his arms,” said the witness.
As the witness drove his vehicle closer, causing a distraction, the attacker suddenly turned his attention to Brian and attempted to grab his dog Luna out of his back seat.
“He’s in the car. I’m punching him. I can see his face and he’s just not present,” Brian said, adding, “He was clearly having a psychotic break or something, some kind of drug reaction.”
KTLA reports: “The good Samaritan said he was finally able to get the dog’s collar off, and the suspect finally let go.”
The assailant ran from Brian’s vehicle, which by this time had rolled into a hedge, and next attempted to break into a nearby building before police arrived.
In an update Sunday, the Beverly Hills Police Department reported it appeared the father had stabbed the attacker in self-defense.
Hopefully, the father will face no charges for defending his family from a violent attacker – but then again, this is California we’re talking about.
