Republican Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake slammed a reporter who asked if “people of color” are wrong to feel like they’re “unfairly targeted by police.”

During a Friday press conference, Lake answered the media member by asking, “How many people of color have you talked to about that?”

When the reporter claimed “surveys” support their claim, Lake said she’d like to see those stats because the people of color she talks with are concerned about crime in Arizona.

“Just because their skin isn’t the same color as yours doesn’t mean you want your kids to be walking down the street in an unsafe neighborhood,” she explained. “Every Arizonan wants safety and security in their neighborhood. It doesn’t matter what your skin color is.”

Continuing, Lake defended law enforcement and informed the reporter statistics actually show police do not target people of color.

“That is a lie that has been perpetuated by the left and then spread and disseminated and re-spread in the media. Check the stats,” she said as the room erupted with applause.

Lake told the media if they were to ask citizens of minority neighborhoods about defunding the police, they’d “look at you like you are the craziest person on the planet.”

Arizona’s GOP nominee for Attorney General, Abe Hamadeh, also chimed in regarding the police targeting minorities.

“You’re acting like it’s just one race that joins law enforcement agencies,” he told the press before accusing them of trying to “further divide our country.”

The strong group of Arizona Republicans running for office appear fit to save the state from being destroyed by liberal policies.
