A review of ballots cast in Maricopa County during the 2022 midterm elections found a one-inch discrepancy in ballot size could have been responsible for nullifying tens of thousands of votes.
The revelation came during day one of Lake’s lawsuit challenging the election results, which was allowed to head to trial this week by Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Peter Thompson.
“48 of 113 ballots reviewed during our examination were 19-inch ballots produced on 20-inch paper,” the Kari Lake War Room tweeted Wednesday according to a random sample of ballots.

A comparison of the ballots shows the difference in sizes.
Footage taken on election day shows how tabulating machines were rejecting misprinted ballots.

An expert testifying during the trial said there was no way for a 19-inch ballot image to be projected on 20-inch paper unless machines were manually configured by an administrator to do so.
The expert testified there are only 2 ways for the 19 inch image to have bee projected onto the 20 in ballot which would cause tabulator errors. Both methods require an administrator to change. This could not have happened by chance or error. It was fraud.

Speaking to Steve Bannon’s War Room, Kari Lake senior advisor Caroline Wren explained:
So 48 of 113 ballots that were reviewed – this was during the ballot review that we were granted yesterday – but during examination there were 19-inch ballots produced on 20-inch paper, but this one-inch discrepancy did cause the chaos on election day, causing the mass rejection of votes as they were attempted to be read through the tabulators is what happened.
And Maricopa County is claiming they created the ballots in house. And why that was explosive is because that means that they intentionally created ballots that could not be read by their printers. And that’s not just malice, that is election sabotage.
Attorney Mark Sonnenklar during the trial described witnessing “pandemonium” on election day as he surveyed at least 10 vote centers on election day, testifying he believed the errors disenfranchised voters.
“There’s only 17k votes separating the two candidates for governor. Based on what I saw on election day I would say there’s no question in my mind that had there not been tabulator issues at 132 vote centers this election would have resulted with Lake winning,” Sonnenklar went on to say.
Elsewhere during the trial, Maricopa County election director Scott Jarrett refused to admit the rejection of ballots would have caused disruptions for voters, whom he insisted “had other options” and could have simply gone “somewhere else.”
