Joe Biden’s climate czar John Kerry had a message for oil workers recently laid off by Biden’s climate directives: you can work on solar panels instead.

Kerry was asked during a press briefing Wednesday what message Biden’s administration has for out-of-work energy workers who “see an end to their livelihoods.”

“What President Biden wants to do is make sure that those folks have better choices, that they have alternatives,” Kerry responded. “That they can be the people to go to work to make the solar panels, that we’re making them here at home.”

“That is going to be a particular focus of the ‘Build Back Better’ agenda, and I think that unfortunately workers have been fed a false narrative – no surprise, right? – over the last few years,” the former Secretary of State continued. “They’ve been fed the notion that somehow dealing with climate is coming at their expense. But it’s not. What’s happening to them is from other market forces taking place.”

“Coal plants have been closing over the last 20 years,” he added, as if globalist policies weren’t somehow responsible for outsourcing those jobs out of America.

The plain facts fly in the face of Kerry’s remarks.

The approximately 145,000 oil and gas workers on average receive an average salary of around $100,000 a year, but the higher earners in the solar industry, comprised of about 250,000 workers, make about $50,000 a year.

In other words, Kerry is effectively telling these oil and gas workers to work in a more competitive environment for much less money.

Kerry’s comments come just days after Biden shut down the Keystone XL pipeline and froze energy leases on federal lands.
