Kamala Harris was booed and heckled during her rally in Houston, Texas, on Friday after the crowd realized singer Beyoncé was not going to perform despite the media promoting the event as a concert.

The Harris campaign and mainstream media, including NBC News, HuffPo, Vanity Fair and USA Today, claimed Beyoncé would sing and dance at the rally, which prompted over a million people to sign up to attend.

But Beyoncé instead spoke to the crowd of 30,000 for a couple minutes in support of Kamala.

“They lied to build a crowd,” Washington Times columnist Tim Murtaugh pointed out.

The Harris campaign instead rolled out country singer Willie Nelson to perform.

The bait-and-switch prompted the large crowd to jeer Kamala when it came time for her to speak.

Harris, forcing a smile, looked like she was having difficulty keeping the outraged crowd under control.

The Harris campaign is so desperate to portray Kamala as a popular figure that they had to lie to her supporters to bolster rally attendance.
