Update: Donald Trump responded to questions from reporters Thursday regarding a manhunt in the Sierra Vista, Arizona, area searching for a convict who recently threatened to kill the former president.

Trump also cut an interview with NewsNation short, saying it was “dangerous” to be in the area.

Police in Arizona launched a manhunt Thursday for a suspect who allegedly threatened to kill Donald Trump, just as the former president is scheduled to visit the border.
In a press release Thursday, the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office warned the public to be on the lookout for Ronald Lee Syrvud, 66, a Benson area sex offender “wanted on several outstanding warrants” who’s under investigation for making death threats toward Trump.
“This subject has outstanding warrants from the state of Wisconsin for DUI / Failure to Appear for DUI and from Graham County Arizona for Hit/Run and Felony Failure to Register as a Sex Offender,” the sheriff’s office wrote in a Facebook update Thursday. “The Cochise County Sheriff’s Office also has an absconder hold for this subject for failing to register as a sex offender.”
The sheriff’s office added, “Public Safety consideration: Syrvud is being sought as an investigative lead for threats to kill a presidential candidate.”
The sheriff’s office is asking anyone with info on Syrvud to call 9-1-1.
The alarming manhunt comes as former President Trump is set to visit Sierra Vista, in Cochise County, on Thursday, where he’s expected to slam Democrat opponent Kamala Harris on her failure as America’s “border czar.”

He added: “The choice in November is simple: Comrade Kamala Harris will bring in hundreds of thousands more Illegal Alien Rapists, Drug Dealers, and Killers, but President Donald J. Trump will keep these same people out of our Country, and send them back to their Countries where they belong. “I WILL KEEP AMERICA SAFE! UNDER COMRADE KAMALA, AMERICA WILL BE THE MOST DANGEROUS COUNTRY ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD. IT WILL REVERT TO THIRD WORLD STATUS VERY QUICKLY!”
Trump will return to Arizona Friday to hold a MAGA rally in Glendale.
News of the manhunt follows an assassination attempt on Trump at a rally last month in Butler, Pennsylvania, where he narrowly escaping death after being grazed by an assailant’s bullet.
