Democrat Texas state Rep. Donna Howard is still desperately trying to explain why she was maskless on a private jet flight, but her efforts only appear to be drawing more anger and ridicule.
Howard was one of 60 Texas Democrats who boarded a jet to Washington, D.C., to skip out on a vote on Texas’ election reform bill last week.

Following the trip, where they met with U.S. officials, Howard along with 5 of her colleagues tested positive for COVID-19.
The Congresswoman was ridiculed over the incident again yesterday in response to her call for “universal mask-wearing.”
However, instead of letting the issue go and hoping that everyone moves on, Howard once again took to Twitter today to try to explain herself.
The Democrat again insisted that TSA rules provide a mask exemption for private, non-commercial flights, before claiming that she would have worn a face mask if she had known of the spike in infections from the delta variant.

“Unfortunately, the spike in infections from the delta variant became apparent immediately after our flight. Had we known at the time, we would have worn masks,” tweeted Howard.
However, she was immediately corrected by commentator Noam Blum, who pointed out that the delta spike started in early June, many weeks before Howard’s maskless flight.

Numerous other respondents made the same point.
While most people would have stopped digging by now, Howard’s refusal to take the L offers an interesting insight into her narcissistic personality.
Like numerous other lawmakers and public officials who have flouted mask rules while demanding everyone else follow them, she remains convinced that her behavior remains consistent with her messaging despite the clearly blatant reality that it isn’t.
