Approximately 10 people were killed and many more wounded during a mass shooting at a school in Sweden on Tuesday, according to local media.
The shocking attack unfolded just after noon local time in Örebro, a city that lies between Stockholm and Gothenburg.
Police were alerted about shots fired at the Campus Risbergska school, prompting a massive response and lockdowns of other schools and businesses in the area.
Footage circulating on social media purportedly shows people fleeing on foot as many shots apparently fired from a semi-automatic weapon ring out nearby.

Swedish police now say “around 10 people” are dead and many others hospitalized.
Reports indicate the shooter, who has been identified only as a male in his 30s, is deceased, although it is unclear if he took his own life.
“We think it was a solitary perpetrator,” Örebro police district chief Roberto Eid Forest stated during a press conference on Tuesday evening.
Oddly, authorities are already ruling out a ‘terrorist motive,’ according to Chief Forest.
“Campus Risbergska was previously a high school, but the school now runs activities for adult education and teaching of SFI students. The school has previously been recognized for various criminal events,” Fria Tider reports.
An investigation is ongoing.
