Five individuals were shot in Washington DC on Friday night, prompting a massive police response.
It was initially reported that the victims included three men and a woman, and later a fifth, unspecified, victim was reported to have been shot.
At least two victims were taken to hospital by medical services. DC Police reported that both were “conscious and breathing.”
It’s been reported that the incident is not terror-related, after the New Orleans attack by Shamsud-Din Jabbar, which has so far claimed the lives of over a dozen people, and the Cybertruck bombing outside Trump Tower in Las Vegas. The individuals involved in the shooting are said to have been known to one another.
The FBI is currently probing potential links between the New Orleans and Las Vegas incidents. It has been reported that the two suspects, Jabbar and Matthew Livelsberger, both served on the same US military base. It has also been reported that both vehicles used in the attacks were rented from San Francisco-based Turo.
Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill told NBC that investigators believe multiple people were involved in the attack. She said authorities believe explosive devices were made in an Airbnb rental in the New Orleans metro area.
The Cybertruck bomber reportedly sent a manifesto to retired intelligence officer Sam Shoemate, just hours before he died in the blast, in which he claimed the Deep State are planning to target Donald Trump with a drone attack.
