A deadly Florida plane crash that killed four Indiana residents on Thursday took the life of an Assistant Director at the American defense company Raytheon.
The Raytheon executive, Jeffrey Lumpkin, was among the deceased in the tragic airplane wreck, along with his wife Patricia and their friends Rick and Elizabeth Beaver.
A pilot himself, Jeff Lumpkin was flying his Piper PA-32R single-engine airplane when the crash happened.
Witnesses of the incident called the police soon after the 9:30 pm wreck and divers were able to recover all four bodies.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the plane crash and no cause has been released.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Lumpkin oversaw 171 other Raytheon employees in his position as the acting Director of Quality Engineering in the company’s Intelligence and Space division.
While this individual’s death seems notable considering his position at one of the top arms dealers in the world, only two UK mainstream media outlets have covered the news and almost no American media companies have mentioned Lumpkin’s demise.
In December 2022, Raytheon was awarded a $1.2 billion contract to provide six surface-to-air missiles to the Ukrainian government as it fights the Russian military.
Last week, the company was awarded another $1.2 billion contract for Patriot Missile System fire units for the U.S. Army to replace units the Pentagon gave to Ukraine last year.
Raytheon is also teaming up with Northrop Grumman and Lockheed Martin’s Skunk Works to replace the Navy’s current fleet of 16 E-6B Mercury aircraft, which are known as the “doomsday” planes used in nuclear war scenarios.
With a high-profile employee of the world’s second-largest defense contractor dying in a plane crash while the company funds a massive war, it’s odd the establishment media and even most alternative outlets are not covering the tragic wreck.
