On Monday, a Texas bankruptcy judge allowed an agreement between Alex Jones and Sandy Hook families to lift an automatic stay in court so the case can proceed to judgements and appeals.
Mainstream media outlets like Raw Story are reporting the judge is “stripping Jones of bankruptcy protections,” yet even AP admits, “the families can’t yet pursue collection efforts against the Infowars host.”
The reporter Raw Story cited also wrote, “The families agreed to not pursue collection efforts yet.”
Jones said his attorneys agreed to lift the stay so they can begin with appeals, adding, “We’re fighting it.”
In fact, a lawyer told AP last week Jones has “significant issues” he can present on appeal because the trial has been “very unusual,” saying, “This is far from over.”
The entertainment attorney said the court’s rulings have been “very draconian” and that the “appellate side is very rich here.”
A similar legal injustice to what’s happening with Jones is currently taking place with the car manufacturer Ford, which is battling a court case where “It was fighting with two hands behind its back,” according to the company’s lawyer.
Jones also said, “Judge Barbara Bellis and Judge Guerra Gamble both found me guilty as a sanction – you’re not supposed to be able to do that – then told a jury how guilty I was. They’ve now done this to Ford Motor Company. This is their new tactic.”
Just like in Jones’ case, a state judge effectively prohibited Ford from defending itself against the plaintiffs’ claims and ordered a jury to rule as if the company were already “guilty.”
Jones recently told listeners, “As AP reports, we have a path to stay on air if we just get the funds in to do the appeals and to continue these bankruptcies.”
