Elon Musk has suggested a full audit of all the money sent to Ukraine by the US, in the wake of President Zelensky’s disastrous visit to the White House on Friday.
In a post on X, Musk wrote, “Time to find out what really happened to the hundreds of billions of dollars sent to Ukraine…”
At time of writing, the post had nearly 35 million views, 329,000 likes and 57,000 retweets.
Reaction to the Tweet was enthusiastic, with users urging Musk to reveal exactly how the money was spent.
Laura Loomer posted: “It was laundered and a lot of it was used to fund NEO NAZIS in the Azov Battallion. We funded Nazis.”
“Wow,” Musk replied, in typical laconic fashion.
“I have a feeling people are going to end up in jail over this!” Tweeted another user.
Musk’s intervention came not long after President Zelensky’s disastrous public meeting with President Trump and Vice President Vance in the Oval Office, which descended to a shouting match as Trump and Vance berated Zelensky for his ingratitude and disrespect, and Zelensky appear to issue veiled threats that the US might soon experience war on its own territory.
Zelensky was promptly removed from the White House. He later made an appearance on Fox News where he tried to excuse the embarrassing row and suggested he and Trump could still come to an agreement about the future of his country.
