Update: Reporter Jeffrey Toobin has been suspended for masturbating on a Zoom call with New Yorker colleagues, according to two people who were on the Zoom call at the time.
“Both people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity in order to speak freely, noted that it was unclear how much each person saw, but both said that they saw Toobin jerking off,” Vice News reported.

The New Yorker has suspended reporter Jeffrey Toobin for exposing his penis during a Zoom call last week between the magazine and WNYC Radio.
“Jeffrey Toobin has been suspended while we investigate the matter,” said New Yorker spokesperson Natalie Raabe on Monday.
Toobin apologized to his family and coworkers over the embarrassing incident.
“I made an embarrassingly stupid mistake, believing I was off-camera. I apologize to my wife, family, friends and co-workers,” Toobin told Motherboard.
“I believed I was not visible on Zoom. I thought no one on the Zoom call could see me. I thought I had muted the Zoom video,” he added.
CNN, who employs Toobin as a legal analyst, also issued a statement: “Jeff Toobin has asked for some time off while he deals with a personal issue, which we have granted.”
“It’s not immediately clear how Toobin managed to be caught with his pants down, but it reportedly happened in full view of New Yorker and WNYC radio employees who participated in the Zoom call. It’s also unclear which day last week this took place,” Law & Crime reported.
