NPR is refusing to cover the Hunter Biden scandal and is calling the story a “distraction,” according to a statement by the network’s managing editor.
“We don’t want to waste our time on stories that are not really stories, and we don’t want to waste the listeners’ and readers’ time on stories that are just pure distractions,” said Managing Editor Terence Samuel in a newsletter from the network. “And quite frankly, that’s where we ended up, this was … a politically driven event and we decided to treat it that way.”
The same newsletter claimed the New York Post’s investigation into the Biden family raised “many red flags” and reports that Russia is “working overtime” to keep the story in the spotlight.
“Intelligence officials warn that Russia has been working overtime to keep the story of Hunter Biden in the spotlight. Even if Russia can’t be positively connected to this information, the story of how Trump associates Steve Bannon and Rudy Giuliani came into a copy of this computer hard drive has not been verified and seems suspect. And if that story could be verified, the NY Post did no forensic work to convince consumers that the emails and photos that are the basis for their report have not been altered.” – NPR
As Infowars predicted, the mainstream media is pushing the ’emails are Russian’ narrative to shift attention from the content of Hunter Biden’s emails.
Earlier this week, the Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe made it clear that the Hunter Biden laptop scandal is not part of some “Russian disinformation campaign.”
“Let me be clear. The intelligence community doesn’t believe that because there is no intelligence that supports that,” said Ratcliffe to Fox Business’ Maria Bartiromo. “We have shared no intelligence with Chairman Schiff or any other member of Congress that Hunter Biden’s laptop is part of some Russian disinformation campaign.”
“It’s simply not true.”
Ratcliffe slammed Representative Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) and other opportunists who use the intelligence community to leverage any “political narrative.”
“And this is exactly what I said would I stop when I became the director of national intelligence, and that’s people using the intelligence community to leverage some political narrative,” Ratcliffe continued. “And in this case, apparently Chairman Schiff wants anything against his preferred political candidate to be deemed as not real and as using the intelligence community or attempting to use the intelligence community to say there’s nothing to see here.”
“Don’t drag the intelligence community into this. Hunter Biden’s laptop is not part of some Russian disinformation campaign. And I think it’s clear that the American people know that.”
Already, calls to defund NPR are trending on social media:
