During Saturday’s Freedom Day protest in Sydney, Australia, a Rebel News security guard was unlawfully arrested and journalist Avi Yemini was threatened by police.

When law enforcement decided to start making arrests, a commanding officer barked orders for police to “Grab that guy,” and “Grab this fella.”

At the commanding officer’s direction, dozens of police slammed a Rebel News security employee to the ground before punching and kneeing him.

Reporter Avi Yemini and the security guard who was arrested made it clear to the police that the man being detained was working, not protesting, when he was nabbed.

As Yemini filmed his security guard being arrested for documentation and legal purposes, a police officer named Inspector Jamie Templeton told his subordinates to arrest the reporter if he causes “breaches of the peace.”

“Avi’s starting to become a bit more problematic,” Templeton told officers. “So, we might need to look at what Avi’s role is here in the moment.”

He then turned his attention to Avi, telling him, “If you’re starting to cause breaches of the peace, you’ll be in trouble.”

The inspector was clearly trying to intimidate Yemini by staring down at him and pressing against his chest in addition to the verbal threats.

Next, Templeton told another officer, “If he [Avi] starts breaching, he already has CHO [Chief Health Officer] breaches at the moment, we just might have to write him a ticket.”

“I’m breaching the CHO directives now?” Yemini asked.

“Where’s your mask,” the inspector quickly responded.

Avi explained that he was working as an on-camera reporter and didn’t need to wear a mask.

The police identifying the Rebel News reporter by name and threatening to arrest him for breaching the peace after singling out the outlet’s security guard and arresting him reeks of targeted harassment.

After being released from jail, the security guard spoke on camera to share his side of the story.

“I was punched a few times, definitely kneed. It doesn’t look as bad now, but I’m telling you they were very, very tight,” he said showing red marks around his wrists from overly-tightened handcuffs.

“To me, it felt very malicious and vindictive,” he continued. “It felt targeted. It was pretty obvious who I am, who you are, what we’re doing. It felt malicious and vindictive.”

This video highlights the tyrannical government Australians are battling against and should also serve as a warning to Americans who don’t want their country to be controlled by similar authoritarian thugs.
