Biden is the worst president in modern American history, according to voters.
A new Daily Mail poll asked around a thousand voters to rank the last nine American presidents in order, from best to worst.
The poll placed Biden behind Jimmy Carter, who was voted out after a disastrous single term that saw inflation skyrocket and a humiliating confrontation with Iran. The poll also put the President behind Richard Nixon, who was forced to resign over the Watergate scandal.
Around 44% of those surveyed placed Biden in the bottom two presidents, and just 14% placed him in the top two.
President Ronald Reagan was ranked as the best president in modern history, followed by Democrats Barack Obama and Bill Clinton.
James Johnson, one of the founders of the company that ran the poll, called the result for Biden “diabolical.”
“There’s always a recency bias and as Joe Biden is the incumbent, he starts off at a disadvantage there,” Johnson said.
“But regardless of that, these numbers are worse than I expected.”
According to Johnson, Biden’s age, his administration’s botched handling of the Afghanistan withdrawal and the crisis at the US-Mexico border are among factors that are likely to have influenced respondents.
“And that’s the position in which he leaves office. From the man who beat Trump to the man who let him back in, and who voters feel has been fundamentally a bad president,” Johnson added.
The poll also found that more than half of American voters disapproved of Biden’s decision to pardon his son, Hunter Biden.
Biden’s approval rating dropped to a record low of 37% in the survey.
