A Mexican male who has been deported several times is facing a slew of charges amid an investigation into a rape and alleged inappropriate contact between illegal aliens and teenagers in a small Michigan lake town, authorities say.
On Monday, the Roscommon County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) announced the arrests of six suspects, including Leocadio Hernandez-Garcia, a 33-year-old illegal alien from Mexico who recently slipped into the country as an unknown gotaway.
Hernandez-Garcia was previously expelled from the U.S. in 2014 and again in 2023 under Title 42.
RSCO deputies encountered Hernandez-Garcia while probing an alleged rape of an 18-year-old victim in Roscommon Township.
“During the course of that investigation, investigators discovered that adult male subjects had been conversing with multiple teenage females from the Houghton Lake area,” RCSO explained in a press release.
RCSO alerted federal authorities, including Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigations, and U.S. Border Patrol.
On Friday evening, search warrants were executed at several properties in Houghton Lake, leading to the arrest of Hernandez-Garcia, who was charged with five counts of criminal sexual conduct.
Five other suspects were apprehended, including two more illegal aliens who were turned over to the feds.
