A previously-deported MS-13 gang member reportedly told Texas authorities he was unconcerned about being arrested ahead of a human smuggling operation because he knew “President Biden would let him go.”
On Friday morning, Terrell County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) deputies stopped the driver of a pickup truck who told them he was heading to pick up a group of illegal aliens.
Authorities discovered the suspect is a convicted felon residing illegally in Houston, NewsNation correspondent Ali Bradley reported, citing Sheriff Thaddeus Cleveland.
He has a lengthy rap sheet and deportation history.
“Additionally, during interviews, the subject said he wasn’t worried because he knew nothing would happen to him and President Biden would let him go. He is being charged for 8 USC 1326, reentry after deportation,” Sheriff Cleveland said.
Border Patrol took the suspect into custody and attempted to locate the illegals he was planning to transport, but it is unclear if they were successful.
A short time later, TCSO deputies thwarted another illegal alien smuggling attempt.
Sheriff Cleveland indicated that Border Patrol likely apprehended the group of illegals awaiting pickup.
