During a Tuesday press conference, outgoing White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki confirmed the Biden administration supports demonstrations taking place outside the houses of Supreme Court Justices in response to a leaked draft showing the court will soon overturn Roe v. Wade.

“I know that there is an outrage right now, I guess, about protests that have been peaceful to date and we certainly continue to encourage that outside of judges’ homes and that’s the President’s position,” Psaki said.

Meanwhile, as many people have noted, federal law 18 U.S.C. 1507 states that anyone who tries to influence a judge or pickets near a residence occupied by a judge can face up to a year in jail.

The code reads, “Whoever, with the intent of interfering with, obstructing, or impeding the administration of justice, or with the intent of influencing any judge, juror, witness, or court officer, in the discharge of his duty, pickets or parades in or near a building housing a court of the United States, or in or near a building or residence occupied or used by such judge, juror, witness, or court officer, or with such intent uses any sound-truck or similar device or resorts to any other demonstration in or near any such building or residence, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both.”

Former US Attorney General Bill Barr said during Monday’s edition of “Jesse Watters Primetime” on Fox News that the demonstrations are “a violation of the law.”

“There is time and place for protests, and the federal statute makes it clear if you go to the house of a judge, the residence of a judge to influence the judge in his decisions and demonstrate that that’s a federal crime,” he explained.

Furthermore, Barr noted it is a state crime in Virginia to protest outside the home of a judge.

Of course, Biden’s DOJ and Attorney General Merrick Garland have not commented on the legality of the Supreme Court Justice protests as they’ll likely allow the madness to continue.
