Former White House press secretary Jen Psaki warned that Democrats will lose the midterm elections if they become a “referendum” on puppet President Joe Biden.
“If it is a referendum on the president, they will lose and they know that,” Psaki stressed on MSNBC’s “Meet the Press” Sunday. “They also know that crime is a huge vulnerability for Democrats. I would say one of the biggest vulnerabilities.”
Psaki noted the Republican Party is honing in on what she says is the Democrats’ biggest weakness: rampant inner-city crime.
“If you look at Pennsylvania, for example, what’s been interesting to me is it’s always, you follow the money and where people spending money,” Psaki explained.
“And in Pennsylvania the Republicans have been spending millions of dollars on the air on crime ads against Fetterman because that’s where they see his vulnerability,” Psaki said of the Senate race in the Keystone State.
“So yes, the economy is hanging over everything. But you do have to look at state by state factors and crime is a huge issue in the Pennsylvania race,” she added.
Currently, Joe Biden’s approval is underwater as the stock market on Friday dropped to its lowest level since 2020 – bear market territory – erasing all gains since Biden captured the White House in January 2021.
Additionally, inflation remains stubbornly high at 8.3% year over year while energy, food, and commodity prices continue to rise.
Earlier in the segment, Psaki claimed the Democrats would win if they framed the midterms as a referendum on the Republicans’ “extreme” candidates like Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (Ga.), who was swatted multiple times in recent weeks thanks to disgruntled transgender activists.
