A new Rasmussen poll has found that significantly fewer Americans are “very likely” to get the coronavirus vaccine compared to when they were asked back in April.
When the question was first posed, 70% of Americans said they were likely to get the vaccine, including 53% who said they were “very likely” to get it.
Eight months later and with strict lockdowns still a reality for many Americans, that number has now dropped significantly.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey found that 62% of Americans said they were likely to get the vaccine, with just 39% indicating they were “very likely” to do so.
The drop has occurred despite a massive public relations campaign urging Americans to get the shot and suggesting they would be irresponsible not to do so.
The poll also found that 49% of Americans think the vaccine will be “safe and effective” while 21% do not and 30% are not sure.
Social media giants have indicated that they will intensify efforts to crackdown on information suggesting the vaccine is pointless or unsafe.
