Following lame-duck Joe Biden giving the green-light to Ukraine to strike deep inside Russia with long-range heavy missiles on Sunday, Moscow issued a warning to the West on Monday, stating that the move would further signify their ‘direct participation’ in the war against Russia.
Maria Zakharova, the spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry delivered the statement on behalf of the Russian government.
Using long-range weapons to strike Russia would “radically change the essence and nature of the conflict,” she said Monday, according to RT.
“Kiev’s use of long-range missiles to attack our territory will mean the direct participation of the United States and its satellites in hostilities against Russia. In this case, Russia’s response will be adequate and tangible,” Zakharova said Monday, according to RT.
Chairman of the Russian State Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin, stated that the ‘elderly end-of-life’ Biden ‘wants to take the world with him’ on Monday, according to RT.
“Volodin said it appears that the elderly Biden, nearing the end of his life, is ‘dreaming of eternity’ and wants to ‘pull America under with him, and maybe the entire world as well’,” RT said Monday. “’If this happens, Russia will be forced to respond. The manner of the response will be up to the Ministry of Defense, but there will be one’, he said, adding that this might even include the use of ‘new weapons systems’ that Russia has not previously deployed on Ukrainian territory.”
Interestingly, according to RT, Russia is allegedly not even sure if the Biden administration actually greenlit the missile deployment.
“Amid rising tensions, Moscow also noted uncertainty regarding the veracity of US policy changes. ‘It is not yet known whether these claims are based on official sources’, a statement outlined,” RT said Monday.
Notably, Russian President Vladimir Putin has yet to respond to the latest Western escalation. On Monday he met with Yevgeny Balitsky, the Moscow-installed head of the Zaporizhzhia region of Ukraine, at the Kremlin.
