Freezer doors were chained shut in the grocery section of a Walgreens in San Francisco after thieves stole “all the pizza and ice cream every night,” according to reports.

Photos and video footage of extreme measures being taken by management to deter looters at the drugstore and market have been circulating on social media.

“The Walgreens at 16th/Geary in San Francisco has chained up the freezer section,” KPIX reporter Betty Yu wrote on social media this week.

“Workers said normally shoplifters clean out all the pizza and ice cream every night. They’re usually hit 20x a day. The whole store is virtually locked up.”

Yu also posted a video showing aisle after aisle of products locked behind safety glass.

Twitter owner Elon Musk replied to Yu, asking, “20 times a day?”

“And sometimes more than that, according to multiple workers,” Yu responded.

San Francisco political commentator and former mayoral candidate Richie Greenberg has been credited with originally drawing attention to the locked freezers last week.

A local activist called Jenny Chachan, who frequently posts on social media about the “decline” of the Bay Area, called attention to photographs she shared more than two years ago from the same Walgreens location showing barren shelves for cosmetic products that had apparently been stolen.

Infowars has been documenting rampant shoplifting and its effects on Bay Area businesses for years.
