Democrat Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) told CNN that the White House has become “an arm of the Kremlin” following the contentious White House meeting between President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
“It is absolutely shameful what is happening right now. The White House has become an arm of the Kremlin,” Murphy told “State of the Union” host Dana Bash on Sunday.
“Every single day you hear from the National Security Advisor, from the President of the United States, from his entire national security team, Kremlin talking points.”

“For the last week, the White House has been pretending as if Ukraine started this war,” he continued. “That’s essentially saying that Poland invaded Germany at the beginning of World War II. There are still facts in this world. And the fact is this: Vladimir Putin is a brutal dictator.”
Murphy then claimed without evidence that Trump wants to surrender all of Ukraine to Putin, which will compel China to somehow start fighting the U.S. and embolden Putin to expand his invasions across Europe and plunge America into nuclear war.
“Russia started this war. And the entire pretext of that meeting yesterday [Friday] was an attempt to rewrite history in order to sign a deal with Putin that hands Putin Ukraine. That is disastrous for U.S. national security,” he said.
“That means that China will be on the march. Putin may not stop. America may be at war with a nuclear power. And for what? It appears as if AMerica is trying to align itself with dictators.”
Murphy went on to argue that Trump wants to align America “with dictators” because that will make it easier to transform America into a “kleptocratic oligarchy” ruled by Trump and Elon Musk.
“If we were aligned with democracies, that would be harder. But if the United States’ closest partner is Russia, then it makes it a lot easier for Donald Trump, Elon, and their billionaire pals to steal from the American people,” Murphy said.
Instead of pressing him to explain the baseless notions he put forward, Bash simply chuckled, “There’s a lot there.”
Murphy then claimed Zelensky was kicked out of the White House for simply asking Trump how Putin can be trusted to honor a ceasefire agreement.
Fortunately, one can simply watch the full Trump-Zelensky exchange to see if Murphy is telling the truth — spoiler alert: he is not.
