Democrat Senator Chris Coons (Del.) appeared on CNN Friday to defend the USAID’s many questionable social programs that have cost U.S. taxpayers tens of millions of dollars.

CNN anchor Michael Smerconish asked Coons if programs like the USAID’s $20 million push to promote Sesame Street in war-torn regions like Iraq was the most “judicious” use of taxpayer dollars.

“This isn’t just funding a kids show for children, millions of children in countries like Iraq,” Coons argued.

“It’s a show that helps teach values, helps teach public health, helps prevent kids from dying from dysentery and disease, and helps push values like collaboration, peacefulness, cooperation in a society where the alternative is ISIS extremism and terrorism.”

“And to your point, it’s pennies on the dollar,” Coons added.

As Infowars has reported, Sesame Street is an ideal vehicle for the Democrats to promote their propaganda to children, such as the trans agenda and that notion that COVID-19 vaccines are “safe and effective.”

Perhaps Coons could also explain the myriad of other wasteful USAID initiatives that saw taxpayer dollars bankrolling numerous left-wing news outlets, NGOs, and other woke social programs.
