Shock: Captain America Actor Says Superhero Shouldn’t Represent ‘America’

"For me, Captain America represents a lot of different things and I don’t think the term, you know, 'America' should be one of those representations," says actor Anthony Mackie.

Hollywood actor Anthony Mackie received backlash after claiming the Captain America character he plays in Marvel’s forthcoming movie Captain America: Brave New World does not represent “America.”

Speaking at an event in Rome, Italy, on Monday, Mackie gave his thoughts on the character he was taking over from actor Chris Evans’ previous iteration.

“For me, Captain America represents a lot of different things and I don’t think the term, you know, ‘America’ should be one of those representations,” Mackie said.

“It’s about a man who keeps his word, who has honor, dignity and integrity,” he added. “Someone who is trustworthy and dependable.”

The actor was raked over the coals on social media over his asinine take, with many saying they’d now forgo the film due to Mackie’s stance.

Elsewhere during the discussion, Mackie went on to claim it was important to portray a black Captain America for black kids, before saying “it wasn’t about race,” and “it’s very important for kids of all races to be able to watch something and have someone to look up to no matter what they look like.”

Do the woke filmmakers at Disney/Marvel not understand the era of leftist garbage is over?

With any luck President Donald Trump’s ambassadors to Hollywood, Jon Voight, Mel Gibson, and Sylvester Stallone, will help the film industry get back on track.
