A mob of ‘teens’ launched a brutal attack on workers at a convenience store in Texas after they were refused sale of a tobacco product, according to reports.
The disturbing incident unfolded at around 9 p.m. on Saturday evening in Mesquite, a city in the Dallas suburbs.
When a female minor was denied sale of a cigar by a clerk at 7-Eleven, she left and then returned with half a dozen friends, authorities say.
Footage of the ensuing melee shot by a witness has been circulating on social media
Suspects can be seen beating the employee as others jump behind the counter and join in.
The victim is pelted with projectiles as the suspects hurl merchandise and profanities.
“Another clerk in the store witnessed the incident and tried to intervene, police said, but was assaulted by the group as well,” Fox News reports.
“Police said they do not possess video of the incident but confirm that the video circulating on the internet of the fight with the clerk is in fact from this particular incident.”
Both workers suffered facial injuries and bruising but refused medical attention at the scene.
“I know many of our residents were shocked by the events at the 7-11 on Cartwright and Lucas this weekend. To see dedicated employees treated in this manner was difficult to watch and even more difficult to understand,” Mesquite Mayor Daniel Alemán said in a statement on Wednesday.
“The increasing amount of youth violence in our country is very troubling. We continue to see youth in our community engage in reckless behavior that reflect poorly on them and the entire City.”
No suspects had been apprehended as of the latest available updates, but the mayor said authorities were “close to making arrests.”
Infowars has been reporting on the surge of violent crime in many U.S. cities.
