A suspect has been arrested following a brutal beating and robbery at a cell phone store in Arizona last week, according to reports.

The extremely disturbing incident unfolded at around 5:15 p.m. on Saturday in Phoenix.

A man entered a Cricket Wireless shop and immediately launched a sadistic assault upon a lone female employee.

Footage of the attack was shared by authorities in hopes of locating the suspect, who was later identified as 33-year-old Michael Cook.

“On Saturday (6/4), this man assaulted an employee, stole phones, and cash from the store. After the assault, the man ran westbound on Bethany Home Rd.,” Phoenix Police explained on social media.

“Suspect is described as a black male, approximately 25-30 years old, 5’8″- 5’11” tall, medium build, wearing a black t-shirt with “west coast” written in yellow on the front, and several multicolored logos on the back. He has on black pants and gray shoes, and has a goatee.”

The victim, 22-year-old Maria Coronado, suffered severe injuries to her face and head but managed to flee to a nearby business to seek help while the suspect ransacked the store.

“He was evil,” Coronado told Fox 10. “He knew what he was doing. This was premeditated. He came four times the whole day, just seeing if there were customers, if I was alone. On Wednesday, he literally told a manager, ‘I’m going to come back and kill you.’”

“It just breaks my heart that no matter what I did — I plead with him, I even told him I was pregnant just to see if maybe that he would stop, and he didn’t. He just kept on going and going and going.”

Coronado says Cook is a regular customer and that police have never been notified about prior threats he made.

“If they would have said something, they probably would have caught him and this wouldn’t have happened,” she said. “I don’t want to go back. It’s just scary. We can’t be alone.”

Coronado says she has given Cook multiple “government-paid” phones in the past, which he has come in to report lost or stolen in order to obtain new ones.

Cook was ultimately turned in to authorities by his own family members who also said they live in fear of him.

“We’ve been trying to get him help, he doesn’t take it, and then we hope when he is outside, he doesn’t go and abuse people,” Cook’s brother Malik told KPHO. “We felt in danger before. We really didn’t want him here.”

“When you see my mom, she got that cut right here, she got a whole cut, tore her mouth up with a phone, threw it at her.”

Cook was arrested on Wednesday and faces a variety of charges including robbery, kidnapping, assault and criminal trespassing.
