A collaborator of the most popular YouTube channel Mr. Beast, which has over 144 million subscribers, confirmed his appearance has drastically changed due to hormone replacement therapy.
Responding to a Twitter user last week who contrasted two side-by-side photos asking, “bro wtf happened,” Chris Tyson, 26, a longtime friend and sidekick of Mr. Beast (AKA Jimmy Donaldson), whose channel boasts over 24 billion views, revealed he’s been on HRT for two months.
Tyson said in a follow-up tweet he believed “informed consent HRT” saved his life, and added he felt people should be able to “get life-saving gender-affirming healthcare” and “make informed decisions about their own bodies.”
“GNC” in the post refers to the term gender non-conforming, indicating he’s not declaring with which gender he identifies.
Tyson’s gradually more feminine appearance has been readily apparent to his and Mr. Beast’s followers over the past few months.
Tyson, who has over 1 million followers on Twitter, appeared with Mr. Beast at the Nickelodeon’s Kid Choice Awards last month, where the popular content creator accepted the Favorite Male Creator award.
Still, the admittedly bi-sexual sidekick’s radical change from married family man with a two-year-old son to a transitioning transgender advocate has turned heads and raised eyebrows.
Tyson in the past has faced criticism over controversial social media posts leftists deemed offensive, including ones made at the expense of the transgender community.
Tyson later claimed “that the tweets stemmed from his own struggles with his sexuality; he came out as bisexual in the fall of 2020,” according to Rolling Stone.
He also at one time made light of transgenderism by claiming he sexually identified as an attack helicopter and once asked, “Is someone just sitting there and getting paid to think of genders?”
Some wondered what influence the sudden transition could have on the content creators’ audiences, largely comprised of young and teen children.
“The line is well beyond crossed when they direct this garbage at our children,” commented one outraged Twitter user. “MrBeast is a children’s show as its audience is predominantly teens and pre-teens. This is not ok. Chris Tyson or whatever he is trying to call himself now should be ashamed.”
Same for Mr. Beast's Chris Tyson who has a fan base of 141M.
Imagine the reach and influence this has on impressionable children. pic.twitter.com/5dJwuvycge
