An Arizona state trooper was seriously injured when a “suspected non-citizen” driving a commercial vehicle while under the influence of alcohol slammed into a parked patrol car this week, according to reports.

The harrowing incident unfolded at around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday near Buckeye, AZ.

An Arizona Highway Patrol State Trooper was sitting in his vehicle roughly 20 feet off the I-10 highway when a large pickup truck and trailer slammed into his vehicle.

“A white Dodge Ram 3500 truck, towing a vehicle trailer with three vehicles on board, traveled off right and off the highway and collided with the trooper’s vehicle at a significant speed. As a result of the collision, the trooper’s vehicle was pushed further off right approximately 60 feet,” the Arizona Department of Public Safety announced in press release.

The trooper was hospitalized with possible head injuries.

The suspect, identified as Andrii Mykhailivk of Brooklyn, NY, was arrested for DUI and related felony charges.

American Truckers United (ATU) initially reported that the driver was a “suspected non-citizen.”

ATU pulled records on the motor carrier involved in the incident and learned the company has a lengthy history of hiring “drivers who lack valid commercial driver’s licenses and who can’t speak English.”

The trooper was discharged from hospital on Thursday.

An investigation is ongoing.

American roadways have become substantially more hazardous in recent years thanks in part to an explosion of unqualified, unvetted foreign drivers with dubious immigration statuses operating commercial vehicles, as InfoWars recently reported.
